![]() ![]() I'd never sell it, but I want to know if she has a some sort of name or type. I really don't care if it's not worth much, but the legacy with this guitar is important to me. I don't really like the sound on anything other than the amp that I got with it (a 1965 Gibson GA-5) lol which is older than me twice over. Over the past year I have learned on this guitar (probably not the best beginner guitar lol) and have taught myself so much - bonded with it. ![]() ![]() ![]() So, I bring it here and hope you guys can help me out. I've had this guitar for a year and a half now and after my grandfather didn't know (and didn't much care) I started looking around on the internet to see if I could identify it, but with no success. According to Gibson's serialization book, I guess that this guitar was made in Nashville in 1987. The most I have found is that the serial number on the back of the headstock, above the words "Made in USA", is 81007553. My grandfather was heartbroken when he didn't receive the Les Paul, so he quit playing guitar and told me that if I learned, I could have this guitar. So, was sold it and with the money she bought 3 or 4 other guitars and gave one to each of her kids. Apparently, sometime in the late 80's my family had a big argument over my great grandmother's 1955 Les Paul TV Model because she had promised it my grandfather. It bears a serial number of 1050 and it is a model G-65.It was given to me by my grandfather, who got from my great grandmother, who was supposedly a good blues guitarist. On the head of the guitar it says “Gower Guitar established 1955″. Inc., 1307 Division St., Nashville Tennessee. Snippet from Guitar-Closet “I own an acoustic guitar manufactured by the Nashville Musical Instrument Co. Goya Gretsch Guild Hagstrom Harmony Hayman Hofner Hohner. Built at the Japanese Matsumoku plant, and effectively the same model as the Aria 5102T. brazilian, maple and mahogany, and a few more exotic woods if i remember correctly…some very unusual sunburst and wood figure…. A detailed look at the Commodore N25 semi-acoustic guitar. They were made of a variety of woods inc. ( ) Francis Goya - Guitar In The Moonlight, Francis Goya - While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Henri Seroka, Francis Goya - Guitar Concerto, Francis Goya. They went on to mass produce acoustics.” and was purchased by country player Billy Grammer in the middle 1960’s. When they started they built acoustic and also electric guitars. According to Jay WGower’s nephew Charles R Moore at Guitarsite in 2003″ JW Gower, his sister and mother started Gower Guitar in 1955. ![]()
